Maria Casanovas takes part in a round table on the figure of the sommelier

The director of Caves Bohigas, Maria Casanovas, participated last Monday in a round table on wine tourism and the figure of the sommelier, moderated by the journalist and expert in wine tourism and in wine-communication Ruth Troyano.

Within the framework of the Diploma Delivery ceremony of the Escola d'Enoturisme de Catalunya, the director of Caves Bohigas, Maria Casanovas, participated last Monday in a round table on wine tourism and the figure of the sommelier, moderated by the journalist and expert in wine tourism and in wine-communication Ruth Troyano.

In addition to María Casanovas, the president of Bodegas Torres del Veguer (Garraf), Joaquim Gay de Montellà; Anna Casabona, sommelier at Celler de Capçanes (Priorat); Marco Maldonado, sommelier from Oller del Mas (Pla de Bages) and Núria Altés, from the Herencia Altés winery (Terra Alta).

The participants were able to debate and talk about the importance of the sommelier as a communicator of wine, their skills and their role, understood as one of the main figures to help enjoy it. Also, the trailer "Liquid Revolution" was screened, by the sommelier and photographer, Clara Isamat.

The event took place in Vilafranca del Penedès and was attended by the president of the Associació Vinícola Catalana, Valentí Roqueta, and the mayor, Pere Regull, who presented diplomas.
