Caves Bohigas wins two medals at the 2025 International Wine Challenge
Two of the winery's cavas obtain medals at one of the world's most prestigious wine competitions.
Caves Bohigas has earned international recognition at the 2025 edition of the International Wine Challenge (IWC), one of the world’s most prestigious and influential wine competitions. This year, the jury evaluated thousands of wines from over 50 countries, awarding medals only to those that demonstrated outstanding quality.
The Bohigas Extra Brut Gran Reserva earned a silver medal and an impressive 92 points in the sparkling wine category. Judges described it as a “bright and balanced wine, with notes of green apple and fresh-cut hay. It has a lively, long-lasting palate with fine bubbles and a refreshing, persistent finish.” The result reflects the winery’s dedication to quality and its ability to express the character of its region through its wines.
The Bohigas Brut Reserva was also recognized, receiving a bronze medal. The panel praised its “aromas of lemon zest and biscuit, with a bright, citrus-driven palate, hints of red apple, and a dry, structured finish.” This cava represents the most traditional side of the winery, made with great care and showcasing its Mediterranean roots.
With these recognitions, Caves Bohigas strengthens its international profile and reaffirms its philosophy of combining family tradition with innovation to craft high-quality sparkling wines that stand out on the global stage.
