Next June, Caves Bohigas will host the course on Service in Restaurants and Bars, from the Catalonia Wine Tourism School, at its Can Macià estate in Òdena.

The course, which lasts 30 hours, is given by the renowned sommelier David Seijas, from El Bulli, and is aimed at entrepreneurs, managers and workers of companies related to the world of restoration.

Seijas was a sommelier at the Bulli Restaurant between 2007 and 2011 and, subsequently, he worked at the Bulli Foundation until 2015. In 2006 he was awarded the 2006 Nose Gold Award for the best sommelier in Spain and, in 2011, he received the Extraordinary award for Best Sommelier by the Royal Spanish Academy of Gastronomy, among other recognitions and awards.

According to the organizers, the Service in Restaurants and Bars course is eminently practical. It includes product tasting, and, in it, notions of pairings and service will be learned, in order to acquire a vision of coherence between the food product, the wines, the service and the way to manage it.

The course of Service in Restaurants and Bars of the Catalonia Wine Tourism School (dependent on the Vilafranca del Penedès City Council) is 100% subsidized and will be held on June 4, 11, 18 and 25, and July 2 and 9, From 9 to 14 hours.
