Bohigas in the Top 50 recommended wines by restaurants in the United States
The prestigious American magazine Wine & Spirits publishes the list of the 50 recommended products where a Bohigas wine and cava appear.
The April 2021 issue of Wine & Spirits magazine has published its list of the 50 best wines according to the criteria of restaurants in the United States during 2020 and the Odenenca Caves Bohigas winery appears with a wine and a cava.
The prestigious American magazine Wine & Spirits Magazine has created its annual list of the 50 best wines which, in an issue marked by the pandemic, this year has been named “Wines that worked in 2020”.
The Wine & Spirits Top 50 has been defined through surveys of 133 restaurants in the United States that have recommended the wines that have worked the most in their establishments during 2020. The Odenenca winery Caves Bohigas appears for the first time in its Top 50 with the Bohigas Brut Reserva Cava and Bohigas Xarel • lo wine. Both products “are very successful in the American market, since in the United States there is a very clear trend towards Brut cava rather than Brut Nature, as is the case in the National market and Xarel • I like its fruity character” explains Maria Casanovas, director and co-owner of Caves Bohigas.
Among all the selected wineries, there are only 5 Spanish and they belong to the autonomous communities of La Rioja, Catalonia, the Canary Islands and the Basque Country. It is worth highlighting the position of Bohigas among highly prestigious wineries such as Álvaro Palacios or R. López de Heredia. And between French champagnes such as Veuve Clicquot or Dom Perignon and where a wide selection of wines from Napa Valley or Sonoma Country has predominated.
Food and Wine also echoes Bohigas
Another relevant American magazine in the world of wine has also recommended Bohigas in recent months. This is Food and Wine magazine, which makes a selection of "14 affordable wines to drink throughout the year" where it recommends Cava Bohigas Brut Reserva as a sparkling wine to drink throughout the day, from brunch time to happy hour.
