The Bohigas Brut Reserva Magnum cava has been the only Spanish product that has obtained gold in the category “Sparkling white wines”.
More than 70 wines from countries such as France, Peru, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Bulgaria and Chile, as well as Spain, participated in the final tasting of the contest, held at the Spanish Tasting School in Madrid.
The jury for the 2019 Magnum International Awards is made up of 13 international judges who are experts in the sector (oenologists, sommeliers, journalists specializing in wine, importers, etc.), who, as in other competitions, carried out the final tasting in a public and blind manner. .
The eleventh edition of the Magnum Awards, organized by Alamesa Wine & Beer Action Marketing and Concursosdevino.com and sponsored by the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV), aims to value the quality and prestige of bottled wines in Magnum. According to its organizers, these Awards are one of the few events endorsed by OIV and included in its Official Competitions agenda worldwide, by scrupulously complying with the strictest international quality criteria as regards wine competitions.
The gold medal-winning cava, Bohigas Brut Reserva Magnum, has the traditional blend of Xarel • lo, Macabeo and Parellada and its bottles have aged between 15 and 30 months in an underground cellar at a natural and constant temperature of 16º throughout the year. .
